Largely it's about the attack. That's why the big strings and action. Not as separate things, but as necessary to facilitate the attack. He also used some type of leslie or rotating speaker but not always.

a short guitar cord into the jack, connect an OHM meter ? the toggle switch to chose a pickup ? and find the OHMage I just learn t something no more taking the pickups out of the guitar first thanks Mathew😊

All these modelers are fun. They're way fun. You get a good approximation of like every amp and every pedal. You can build an entire signal chain with compression, stacked overdrive, modulation, delay and reverb. And it's all right there. Is it the real thing? No, of course it isn't. But at the same time if you can't have fun with a modeler... you should probably just put down the guitar.

I have a reissue. The neck angle DOES accommodate the bridge - they were designed hand in hand to play well. The neck has zero relief to match the low position of the strings coming off the saddle from below. The problem is that this "under" winding doesn't allow muting (and perhaps lowers string tension?). Perhaps designed with strumming in mind. Restringing over the saddle makes the action much too high - maybe a great slide guitar actually. Some people have the neck reset to the negative rake most guitars have to match strings coming over the saddle. Short of that, the aftermarket 'over' saddle mentioned is simply of a very low profile to bring the action acceptably down - but at a cost of low string tension which affects tone. BUT.... not necessarily in a bad way and in my opinion makes a great swampy sound especially with the P-90's. It's an underrated guitar and has a place in a collection of tone and feel..and simple cool mojo factor. I've some very high end and otherwise collectible guitars I'd part with before this one.

I love my 2013 double-gold '52 tribute. Heavy enough to leave a dent in your leg. And tone for miles. I'll never get to play an actual '52 I imagine, but I love the one I got!

i never could figure out how gibson made such a very bad mistake on the neck angle, why didnt they catch that on the proto type?? i had a 52 reissue gold top, played excellent but was way to heavy to gig with, wound up trading it
